Magnesium Chloride Spray: What Is in the Bottle
Magnesium oil is not an oil. It is a strong solution of magnesium chloride in water, and it gets the name from the slippery, oily feel it has on the skin. Our magnesium chloride spray keeps the list short on purpose. Many sprays on the shelf add glycerine, aloe, menthol, MSM or preservatives. Our Original is the salt and the water. Lavender adds pure lavender essential oil and a small amount of emulsifier, because oil and water do not mix on their own.
Natural Magnesium Spray: Original or Lavender
Original is magnesium chloride and water, nothing else. Choose it if you prefer no fragrance, have sensitive skin, or want to use it before training or work.
Lavender is finished with pure lavender essential oil for a soft, calming scent. A favourite for the evening shower-then-bed routine.
Not sure? Choose Half Original, half Lavender and try both. One for the training bag, one for the bathroom.
How to Use Magnesium Spray
- Shake before use.
- Spray 5 to 10 times onto clean skin: legs, feet, arms, shoulders or back.
- Massage in with your hands.
- Leave it for about 20 minutes, then rinse or wipe off if your skin feels tacky.
New to magnesium spray? Start with a few sprays on your legs or the soles of your feet, where skin is less sensitive, and build up from there.
Topical Magnesium Spray vs Flakes
The spray goes straight onto skin with no bath needed. Prefer a soak? Our Epsom salt is magnesium sulphate for the bath. Many people keep both: the spray for every day, the salts for the weekend.
Before You Use It
For external use only. Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not apply to broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin. A tingling or itchy feeling is common, especially on first use, because the salt solution is strong. If it is uncomfortable, rinse it off and use fewer sprays next time. Patch test on a small area first and stop if irritation occurs. If you are pregnant, or using it on a child, check with your health professional first. Keep out of reach of children.

FAQ: Magnesium Oil Spray
What is the best way to use magnesium oil spray?
Shake the bottle, spray 5 to 10 times onto clean skin, massage it in, and leave it for about 20 minutes. Many people use it after an evening shower or after training.
Why do I need to shake it?
Shaking keeps the solution even from the first spray to the last, and in the Lavender spray it mixes the essential oil back through.
Where should I spray magnesium spray?
Legs, feet, arms, shoulders and back all work well. Avoid your face, eyes, and any broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin.
Can you leave magnesium spray on overnight?
You can, but most people rinse or wipe it off after 20 minutes because the salt can leave the skin feeling tacky.
Why does magnesium spray tingle or itch?
The solution is concentrated salt, and on some skin that brings a tingling or itchy feeling, most often on first use or on recently shaved skin. Use fewer sprays, apply to the soles of your feet, or rinse off sooner.
Is magnesium oil the same as magnesium spray?
Yes. "Magnesium oil" is the common name for a magnesium chloride solution. It feels oily but contains no oil.
Magnesium spray or lotion: which should I choose?
A lotion is creamier and usually contains emulsifiers and preservatives. A spray is lighter, covers large areas quickly, and has a much shorter ingredient list.
Original or Lavender?
Original if you prefer no fragrance or have sensitive skin. Lavender if you enjoy the scent as part of a wind-down routine.
Why amber glass?
Amber glass blocks light, which helps protect the lavender essential oil, and glass does not hold on to scent like plastic can.
My spray nozzle is clogged. What do I do?
Salt can dry in the nozzle. Pull it off and run it under warm water, or spray warm water through it.
